Through the friendship of Phillip and Jean Lersch, became acquainted with the special appeal of Ashland University. An Ohio native from the Cincinnati and Columbus areas, it is doubtful she ever set foot on the campus and probably only heard about it from the Lersch's. However, this professional opera performer who gave up her career to care for family members, developed a special caring for her music students, up to eighty at one time.
